Praise for Security in our Holy Father
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
(Isaiah 46:4)
I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations...
(Isaiah 42:6)
"For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word."
(Isaiah 66:2)
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
(Psalm 139:13)
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.
(Psalm 71:18)
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
(Matthew 28:20)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
(Joshua 1:9)
But you, Belshazzar...But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.
(Daniel 5:22-23)
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:38-39)
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
(Romans 8:11)
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
(Ephesians 1:5)
Lord, how great is Your care for Your creatures!
How large are Your hands, cupping us all;
Strong hands, gentle hands, creative hands...
You designed us, knit us together in our mother's womb -
Surely You never forget Your children, Your creation.
You have promised to be with us until we are old and gray,
Indeed, You have promised to be with us until the end of the age!
We were lost, God - separated from our Father, our Creator.
And so You sent Your Son to bring us back again...
And then You sent Your Spirit to dwell INSIDE of us, that we will NEVER have to feel separated!
Our lives are Yours! May our lives be that of worship, honor, and reflection of You.
What could satisfy us more than You, O Lord?
Riches? Power? Knowledge?
Surely none of these are greater, more magnificent than You, Lord God!
As Daniel told Belshazzar, materialism is empty;
what fills our courtrooms and our stomachs cannot fill our soul.
Power can be stripped away, no earthy power we obtain is stronger than Yours,
as proven by Your power over Pharaoh, over the Philistines, over death itself.
As Adam and Eve discovered, knowledge obtained by ways of this world only enlightens us to our nakedness.
Lord, You tell us that when two of us are gathered in Your name,
You are in our midst.
And still closer yet, is Your Holy Spirit inside of us!
What a mighty God to keep track of us,
To tend to us,
To save us - to give us new life,
When we did not deserve it.
Lord, there could be no more of a faithful friend than You.
There could be no more of a loyal, loving Father than You.
We praise You for our adoption into Your saintly family,
Brothers and sisters in Christ.
We bask in Your abiding presence, Lord Almighty!
We Glorify Your steadfastness!
Oh Good Shepherd, You never lose even one of us.
May we feel Your presence around us today, and always,
Amen.
I have loved you with an everlasting love...
(Jeremiah 31:3)
PRAISE REPORT! Faith Like a Child...
My Son is 61/2. For Resurrection Day this year I gave him his first piece of fine jewelry and first cross - a beautiful opal necklace. I didn't know how he'd react, but he loved it and has been proudly wearing it. I told him some kids at school might make fun of him because they don't believe in Jesus. Rather than feel concerned about it, he answered me, "But they DO have Jesus in their heart - because we all do - they just don't know it yet." I was so touched by this deep theological understanding of how we are all God's children - we just need to invite Him in. Never underestimate what a child can comprehend - especially when it comes to the Truth, that indeed, is already imbedded within them.
I praise God for my son's innocent yet profound faith in Jesus!
