Day 2: Jehovah Tsidkenu

Jehovah Tsidkenu:

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Corinthians 5:11

Tsidkenu - This name means “The God of my righteousness.”  We are to confess who we now are in Christ - not who we were separated from Him. Our righteousness is as filthy rags, but His righteousness makes us clean and pure.

We need to see ourselves as Christ sees us. We are now defined not by what we did, but by what Christ has done. Christ took our sins and died on the cross, taking our punishment so that we could receive the gift of salvation, being made righteous by His grace.  Righteousness is not a work - it is fruit, the byproduct of abiding in Christ.

Today, we can lift up God as Tsidkenu, our righteousness, declaring ourselves free from guilt and shame.
