In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. - Genesis 1:1
Elohim – This Name for God appears in the first verse and the first chapter in the Bible. The Name, Elohim, refers to God’s creative power and supreme authority. He is the sovereign God, ruler of the universe. The Name Elohim is used over 2,500 times in the Bible and 32 times in Genesis Chapter 1.
He is the Creator, the God above all gods. It is He who has made us and not we ourselves. He created us to know Him and to fellowship with Him.
Adam walked with God in the cool of the day. As the New Creation, we have been born again (we are now cleansed from all sin and made righteous through the Precious Blood of Jesus) and now have uninterrupted access to our Maker. Today, we can celebrate Elohim, our Creator, and God of immeasurable love. IN HIS NAME, we can approach the Thrice Holy God with boldness and draw near.
