THERE'S MORE TO IT
We have to do more
than just get out
of the wilderness
yes
it is hard,
and we must endure
much.
Often
we are war torn
from our time
spent
in that place
before
the victory.
Our emergence
from the wilderness
is but the
beginning.
Remember
when
the elders
returned
and spoke of giants
in that land
of Canaan?
Only two
spoke
positively
and we too
must realize
that our mouths
used properly
open the door
of opportunity.
We study
to learn
such simple things
but we have
thought for
so long
that it must
be complicated.
We must believe it
in our hearts
confess it
with our tongue
and stand firm
in the howling winds
of persecution
and doubt.
When we arrive
the journey has
not ended
it has merely
begun again
in a new place
and having gotten
to this
new place
we must have
left behind
all that wasn’t
holy
and sure.
So now
here
we step
into the new reality
surrounded
by God’s
promises
confident of God’s
victory
washed clean
by the Blood
of the Lamb
covered
by His mercy
and propelled
by faith
through grace
we truly
begin
to live
as winners
as warriors
and with the exuberance
of a child.
