A Few Words About Protection As You Pray

Dear saints of God,

We are embarking upon a divine mission as we take to the battlefield of prayer together and we want to be very clear about the threat your prayers pose to the forces of darkness that rule this world. You need to protect yourself the bible way. Praying in line with God’s will is our first and greatest defense against the powers and principalities that mean harm. The Bible makes it clear that our Heavenly Father has willed that this warfare (fervent prayer) is an absolute necessity for the development and preparation of His children to live in His Kingdom. It cannot be avoided; we cannot remain neutral. In one sense, we really have no choice. We must either fight or be lost. Please remember to protect yourselves as you enter the battlefield of prayer. Be strong in the Lord and draw your strength from Him.

Ephesians 6:11-14 instructs us to put on the whole armor of God:

11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].

14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart),

15 and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news].

16 Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

18 With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.

And look at psalm 23, a scripture most everyone has heard, what does it tell us but that if we call on His Name we have nothing to fear, God will meet our needs, He will lead us to into the paths (prayers) He would have us undertake for His Name’s sake, He will deliver us from evil and lead us on the gentlest way as we walk through trials and tribulations and He will give us rest. He will protect, guide and comfort us. And He will feed us, anoint us and refresh us. His mercy and goodness and unfailing love will be our rearguard. Our cups will overflow. You are important to us and we want you to pay attention, be wise, and trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Another great passage to read and pray aloud as comfort and protection is Psalm 91.

Thank you for taking on this mission with us; You are in our prayers daily.
