DAY 1: LORD

Day+1+LORD%2C+Lord.jpg

Name: LORD/Lord

Prayer and Meditation:

LORD, our Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth.”  Psalm 8:1 & 9

The first and last verses in Psalm 8 set the stage for our time of prayer and study of His names in the Psalms. “LORD, our Lord,” elicits humble pause, reverence, worship, and praise of our sovereign LORD.

Scripture consistently celebrates the majesty and grandeur of the LORD through His wondrous works and character. Similarly, the body of Psalm 8 acknowledges the splendor of the LORD’s handiwork through creation. It is the first and last verses, the bookends of this beautiful Psalm, that intentionally draw our hearts to the majesty and greatness of the LORD himself.

As we begin this time of seeking the Lord, remember that He is your Lord and the ruler in your heart. If there are areas in your life where you reign, and you have not surrendered these to Jesus as Lord, then right now yield these to Him. Ask the LORD for these strongholds broken. Now, let the love and power of God invade your heart, and with great joy and freedom, let us join the psalmist in prayer and worship, saying, “LORD, our Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth!”.

In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ we pray, Amen!
