1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

The beloved apostle John invites us
to "know and rely" on God' s love.
That word "rely" means believe, trust, have confidence in.
As we ground our lives in the knowledge
and experience of God's great, unchanging, perfect love,
that love grows in us, draws us closer to God and others,
and shapes us to live as agents of God's love
so others will come to know that love too.
