I am excited to bring the word today, and it’s on the name of God: King of Kings. In 1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14, 19:16, Jesus is called the King of kings. What does this mean?
First let’s look at what a King is: a king comes into that position by blood line and is a sovereign ruler; nobody tells him what to do, and all his subjects to obey his rules and commands. He makes decrees at will, he is feared and respected, and can take the nations to war.
God is the King of kings: He is the King above all other kings, the President of presidents, the Accountant of accountants…that’s what we’re talking about here. Wherever there’s a sovereign, God is sovereign over him and supersedes all worldly authority.
