Day 40: King of Glory

King of Glory.jpg

Name: King of Glory

Prayer and Meditation:

“Lift up your heads, O gates!  And be lifted-up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.  Who is this King of glory?  The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!  Lift-up your heads, O gates!  And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.  Who is the King of glory?  The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory!”  Psalm 24:7-10.

This sacred hymn celebrates the glory of our LORD and King.  Through our study of the LORD’s divine names and attributes we can begin to answer David’s question,” Who is the King of Glory?”.   All His godly titles in the aggregate confirm the essence and power of His character and light of His glory.

God’s glory is further revealed through the life of Jesus.  In the High Priestly Prayer, Christ prays: “Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began”. Christ’s crowning glory is seen through His obedience in the death of the cross. Christ continues in prayer requesting the Father sanctify us in His TRUTH sending us into the world in unity with fellow believers, Jesus himself and the Father.  In so doing His glory rests upon us so we, in turn, can be one with Him.  See John 17.

LORD, we ask for a teachable spirit and loving heart.  Teach us your way Lord.  Our finite minds cannot fully comprehend your glory or being one with You.   Guide us LORD so that we reflect your glory through our lives with a unified mission to bring the lost to you.  We proclaim in unity Your glory and celebrate your Wondrous Works.  You are the God of Miracles, Strong and Mighty, Jesus Christ, King of Glory is your name.

Thank you for joining us for these 40 Days!

I trust that your life has been enriched and your faith has grown.
