Day 38: Steadfast Love & Faithfulness

Love and Faithfullness.jpg

Name: Steadfast, Love & Faithfulness

Prayer and Meditation:

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon you.” Psalm 86:5

It’s impossible to forgive without Love. Love begets faithfulness, and faithfulness begets steadfastness. These three elements alone could almost sum up God and His character towards us. His Love (agape) for us is the ultimate witness to how we should treat all those around us. 1 John 4:19 states, “We love because He first loved us.” There is no “maybe” or “just not feeling it today” when it comes to God loving us.

If He didn’t love us, He wouldn’t have sent Jesus to die on the cross. Plain and Simple. With that said, how much more should we imitate Him in this manner? John 13:35, “They will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love is one of the defining witnesses of a Christian.

It’s not easy; if it were, everyone would do it. We live in a world where love is conditional based on gifts and verbal reassurances. Let’s make a decision today to change the norm on love. Show love even when they (family member, boss, sibling, or friend) don’t. Take it another level: don’t just say the word “love,” but show it in deed, in action. Let God show you the way to love.
