Prayer and Meditation:
“Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created. And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.” Psalm 148:5 and 6
In brief, these verses tell the account of creation in a single word. Jehovah spoke/commanded and it was done. We celebrate the miracle of creation through His Word. No further discussion is needed to establish the omnipotence of our LORD.
John 1:1 to 5 and 14 references this creation moment: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him nothing made was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
You are the God of Miracles, the Creator, Maker, Father and Son, Jesus our Savior. You are the Word. Open our hearts and minds to your voice. Guide us. Lead us. Give us understanding. Refine our lives to be a living testimony of your grace and mercy.
