Name: JEHOVAH SHAMMAH-The Lord is There (The Lord’s Presence)

Prayer and Meditation:

Where can I go from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?” Psalm 139:7

There are many times in the Christian life that seem stressful and overwhelming. We live in a broken, sinful world which works diligently to distract us and veer us from the course God has set for us. It is during these moments when the Father is waiting with open arms, hoping we will make the decision to put our lives on hold and enter that “secret place” to spend time with Him. This is where we find life - where we receive the answers our souls are desperately seeking.

24-hours, 7 day-a-week, we have access to this holy place with The Father. This access comes through the working power of the Holy Spirit which was freely given to us! While sometimes it seems impossible to connect with God, His presence never leaves us. It is through spending time with Abba (Father) that we grow deeper into relationship with Him and learn more about His heart. We should never feel timid or inadequate to enter the presence of God; it’s what He longs for! In the same way parents desire to spend time with and get to know their children as much as possible, God desires the same - even more so.

I plead with you to take time today to slow down and rest in the presence of almighty God. Whether it be in the grocery store, in the car, on your way to work, or alone in your bedroom, God the Father is longing for His children to spend time with Him. This daily contact with the Creator is what fuels the Christian life. He regenerates our souls and knows exactly what we need.
