Promises Week 9:
Deuteronomy 10 - 32
…delighting in Him and His Word…Psalm 37:4
Deuteronomy 11 and 12 Faithfully Obey and Love the Lord – Richly Rewarded. (i) 11:13 to 15 Lord controls the universe and promises to bless us with a bountiful harvest if we FAITHFULLY OBEY; (ii) 11:21 long life; (iii)l11:23 – 25 prosperity; (iv) 15:18 everything we do.
Deuteronomy 12 illustrates that our provision from God is where we are going not where we are. We must move forward on His word into His promises in order to receive the fullness of what He wants to provide for us.
Deuteronomy 17:14-20 A Kingly Profile Moses instructs the Israelites on the King the Lord will choose for his people – and ultimately the King of Kings. He will not be considered “better” than his neighbors – he will not be persuaded to turn away from the correct path – his reign will be for a long time. Chapter 18:15 – 17 similarly Moses prophesizes a mighty Prophet – Christ was not honored in His own country.
Deuteronomy 20:4, 31:8, 32:12 The Lord is our Guide and Companion. The Lord goes before us and with us.
Deuteronomy 23:21 and 23 Vows = Promises. What we promise to the Lord we need to fulfill. God wants us to be true to our word – we want to be known for our integrity.
Deuteronomy 24 gives us direction to provide for others, to leave blessings from every harvest.
Deuteronomy 28:12…The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give rain…such a blessing… (everything that God has established is to bless us!) The promises in this chapter are incredible. He shall make us to have surplus, to be the head not the tail, above not beneath and He will bless all the work of our hands. That could be as simple as a handshake, a loving touch or our signature on an agreement.
Deuteronomy 31:8 He will comfort us.
Deuteronomy 32:10 …the apple of His eye…rest in knowing our Heavenly Father cherishes us and will keep us safe.
Wherever you go and whatever your circumstances ask God to go before you and prepare the way. He is faithful and He will do it and then all you have to do is follow. Be strong, be of good courage and stand firmly in your faith.
Week Ten: Deuteronomy 33 to Joshua 21
