Promises Week 7:
Numbers 8-29
…delighting in Him and His Word…Psalm 37:4
Numbers Chapter 9 – CELEBRATE. We start off this week again with a celebration – this time of the Passover. It is the year of CELEBRATION. This is actually an instruction of the Lord to me … verse 13 states if the Passover is not celebrated as instructed those who disobey will bear the consequences of their actions (sin).
Numbers 11:17 and 23; 12:3, 6, 7 and 8, 14:12 to 14. The Scripture reveals the character of Moses and the relation of Moses and the Lord.
Numbers 18:19. The Covenant of the Salt. The article Covenant of Salt, by Chris Suitt offers an informative background on this covenant – enjoy the reading.
Numbers 20:12. Waters of Meribah. The Lord states that Moses disobeyed Him because he failed to trust Him. In further reading it appears that this is the first time that God asks Moses to do a miracle through word rather than action. In failing to follow God’s instruction, Moses is unable to enter the Promised Land.
Numbers 21 to 25. Balak and Balaam. The story of Balak and Balaan is complicated and present well at the following site: www.gotquestions.org/Balaam-in-the-Bible.html .
Numbers 29. Atonement. AT ONE. By Christ’s death and resurrection we are delivered from the penalty of sin and made one with God.
Week Eight: Numbers 30 - Deuteronomy 9
