Promises Week 26:

Book III Psalms 73 to 89

…delighting in Him and His Word…Psalm 37:4

(Leviticus – tabernacle worship – what man is like in the presence of God.)

Psalm 73.  When we follow God’s counsel we are led to glory…

Psalm 78 Revelation of Hidden Truths of Old.  What can we learn from this remembrance?  Cause me to remember you wonders, miracles, judgment and unfailing love.

Psalm 78:52, 73:24 He is Our Guide.  Our Lord knows the future and is our willing Guide.  He never errs.

Psalm 72:12 He Delivers the Needy.  Spurgeon:  the needy cries; what else can he do?  His cry is heard of God; what else need he do?

Psalm 73:1 The Lord’s Goodness.  This is conditional promise – given to those of pure heart.  Again – Spurgeon – believed all the PROMISES of God – many of them he had personally tried and proved…How can we secure many of the Bible’s PROMISES and make them our very own…

Psalm 73:23 He is our Right Hand.

Psalm 77:14 Thou art the God that does wonders…

Psalm 78:12 & 19 The Father’s Table…Verse 12 is a reminder of the record or history of God’s unbending love.  Our PBS Father’s Table is depicted in verse 19 and Psalm 23:5.

Psalm 81:6 He is Our Burden-bearer.  He answers us out of the thunder…awesome.

Psalm 82:3 He Defends the Fatherless.

Psalm 84:11 Shield and Protector.  A direct promise with a particular blessing…we figure large in His eyes and He promises us His best…He is our impenetrable Shield and Protector.

Psalm 85:6 and 8.  The Lord PROMISES revival –  we should not turn again to sin.

Psalm 86:5 Abounding Love.   The Lord is good and answers all who call upon His name.  Pray for the lost to seek Him and call to Him – he will draw them to Himself.

Psalm 87 This psalm honors the city of God, Jerusalem, and the temple, as a source of life and joy.
