Prayer and Meditation:
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
Many of us come to Christ during broken-hearted situation in our lives. Whether it was pain derived from a loved one, the loss of a good paying job, or a moment where life seems like it’s lost all color and food no longer has taste. There’s a gravitational yearning in our hearts that wants to be tended for and “healed” from all pain. We tend to associate “healer” with physician, therapist, doctor, mender, and curer; God, is all of these.
He doesn’t intend to just heal our emotional pain but also the spiritual. That God-given desire and longing to want to be with Him. Sometimes though, it’s through the initial phase of the emotional healing that allows our minds and heart to see who He really is, and at what capacity He truly wants to heal us.
Psalm 147 is great because it doesn’t just mention the healing aspect of God, but it’s brings you into the finish of marathon from the healing process; rejoice (i.e praise). God is never going to bring you into an incomplete phase of being healed; He will carry you from a point of pain into praise. That’s why He is the HEALER.
